There is common confusion about whether Plexiglas and Plexiglass sheets are the same. If to provide you with a brief and precise answer, the answer is no. A general statement might be that plexiglass refers to clear acrylic sheets.  Plexiglass is available in a variety of shapes and sizes, including clear cast sheets and clear extruded sheets. Many acrylic manufacturers use the two phrases interchangeably to refer to plexiglass products. On the other hand,  Plexiglas is a popular brand that provides cell cast acrylic.

Cell cast acrylic is more expensive to produce than extruded acrylic, but it is tougher and highly abrasion-resistant.
